In models 097 the locking rope connects the lever of gear shifting and the ignition lock.

TRANSMISSIONS 01N AND 097

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish the gear shifting lever in neutral situation.
2. Lift and fix a forward part of the car.
3. Remove heatisolating screen from an arm of the mechanism of gear shifting.
4. Disconnect a rope of the lever of gear shifting from a transmission.
5. In models 01N braid a nut and a bolt in a back part of the right support of a transmission.
6. Remove the right basic arm of a transmission.
7. In models 01N of 1995 g let out till June, remove a clip and squeeze out the plug from the basis of the lever of switching.
8. Remove the central console.
9. Remove the mechanism of the lever of gear shifting.
10. Weaken a lock nut and disconnect an internal rope.
11. Shift a rubber cover and remove from a rope a nut and directing tube.
12. Disconnect a rope from a back cover of the mechanism of the lever of switching.

Installation

Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.

Adjustment

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish the gear shifting lever in parking (R) situation.
2. Establish switching lever on a transmission in parking situation.
3. Be convinced that the rope is not overwound and not compressed. Tighten a tightening nut.
4. Check operation of the lever of gear shifting.
5. Establish the lever in situation (R), check with the help щупа that the gap between the locking electromagnetic valve and the lever was within 0,6 – 1,4 mm (And). If necessary adjust position of the valve.

LOCKING ROPE OF THE TRANSMISSION 097

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the central console.
2. Remove a wheel and the dashboard.
3. Establish the gear shifting lever in situation (N).
4. Unscrew a bolt, a fixing rope to the lever mechanism.
5. Uncover the lock of ignition and disconnect a rope clip.
6. Disconnect a rope from the ignition lock.

Installation

Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.

Adjustment

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Include ignition.
2. Weaken an adjusting bolt (1) and adjust by means of measuring щупа a gap between a shutter and a pin of the locking mechanism (A = 1,4–1,7 mm).
3. Check operation of the mechanism.
